3.5 Ground fixation with Ballast Tanks
If it is not possible to fasten the tent to the ground with pegs, it can be fixed with 2 ballast tanks which will be
attached lengthwise.
a) Spread out both ballast tanks lengthwise at the sides of the tent and place them on the broad ground
skirting flaps in such a way, that the attachment points for the guy ropes point outward, away from the
tent.
b) Fill the tanks with water.
c) Attach the guy ropes with the karabiner to the attachments points at the ballast tanks which are on the
outside. So in case of hard winds the ballast tanks are pulled towards the tent and give extra security.
d) Tension the guy ropes.
e) The dismantling takes place in the opposite way. Before drying sqeeze out the remaining water as
much as possible, then hang-up the tank with open lids. Poor out the remnant water if necessary.
f) You may also use the fan for drying the tank inside.
3.6 Connecting Tents
a) Build-up two tents.
b) If necessary, carry the first tent into the final position. Pulling the tent above the ground may damage
the ground sheet or even the inflatable system.
c) Place the second tent with its entrance-to-use in front of the first tent’s entrance-to-use.
d) Open the entrances completely.
e) Conjoin the Velcro of the outer connecting flap from the inside with the Velcro of the outer flap of the
second tent. A person outside may assist you.
f) Pull the second tent carefully away from the first one to tighten the connection. So you avoid water
pockets.
g) Install the rain gutter by fixing it by Velcro to the small inner flaps. Make sure the rain gutter is centred.
h) Finally push the long ends of the rain gutter outside underneath the connecting flaps for the rainwater to
drain outside.
