DESCRIPTION
The correct PGM449 firmware version is displayed.
Pressing the "
ESC
" button will move you to the Palm setup stage and pressing the "
ENT
"
button will move you to the main menu.
Personalisation regards the display illumination and the buzzer. The asterisk on the right end
of the line means that the option is enabled. Pressing the corresponding button enables/
disables the function.
A Set the display background illumination to use less power when the appliance is working
off internal batteries.
The asterisk indicates that background illumination is active. The PGM449 has a battery
voltage check: if the charge drops below a preset limit background illumination is automati
-
cally switched off and a warning message appears on the display.
B Select buzzer sounding when any button is pressed .
C Automatic background illumination shut down after 8 seconds of inactivity: this allows
you to use background illumination without flattening the batteries if you leave the appliance
on for a lengthy period. The first time you press a button after this temporary shut down the
background illumination will be reactivated but any eventual function associated with that
button will not be activated.
D Allows you select additional PIN related security functions. (Go to menu nr. 50).
This is the Palm main menu and it divides the various functions into four logical groups.
To detail the functions reference is made to the specific functions in the sub menus.
A Function management governing the user codes present in the receiver memory module:
check, memorisation and cancelling.
B Managing functions exclusively dedicated to the memory modules: information, duplica
-
tion, cancellation.
C Managing special functions.
Selecting transmitter and receiver management functions for the S449 series.
A
Operations dedicated to memorising one or more codes inside the memory (pressing
button "
A
", jumps to menu nr.
05).
B
Functions cancelling one or more codes from memory (jump to menu nr.
08).
C
Shows information pertaining to transmitters and their relative codes stored in memory
without making any changes (read only): using this function it is not possible to accidentally
modify information (jumps to menu nr.
15).
D Program a TRS so that the receiver will recognise it as a replacement for another which
is already in memory. Jumps to menu nr.
32
to insert the new transmitter code.
GENERAL:
The associated functions and possible choices, as well as the data to be inserted, is indicated for each menu that appears on the display.
If you wish to go back one level to the previous menu you must go backwards step by step. This is obtained by pressing the "
ESC
" button,
unless otherwise stated on the display.
In all the menus A,B,C,D allow you to choose one of the options which appears on the display.
There are two types of memory module that can be used: the 300 code module (used in the S449 standard outdoor receiver) uses the
component marked 24C16 while the 1000 code module uses the component marked 24C64. The socket in the adapter at the head of the,
PGM449 gives priority to the 300 code memory module; therefore if two memory modules are present at the same time (one 1000 and one
300) you will only be able to manage the 300 code memory module. All memory operations are carried out in the "master" socket (in silk
screening: M_64 stands for 24C64, M_16 stands for 24C16); the only exception is for a pair of 1000 code memory modules where the "slave"
module (the one which is to receive the copy) is inserted in S_64.
For greater detail refer to fig.1 which shows the socket for external memory modules.
If the busy LED is flashing you must not insert or remove memory modules. This could cause the loss of information or even damage
the memory module itself .
The 300-code memory socket is doubled: to enable the use of simple integrated circuits such as those used in the S449 receivers, as well as
using the "strip" type memory modules used in the S437 series (horizontal and vertical types). For this reason you must be extremely careful
regarding the orientation and the position in which the memory module is inserted. Incorrect insertion is possible!
