COMPATABILITY WITH EARLIER VERSIONS

•

These are specific instructions for the

firmware version 2.0.

For products with previous

firmware versions refer to the original instructions. The previous version was referred to as

“

V1.2”and the specific instruction manual is “ZVL417.00

”.

•

Do not use the Palm with management software versions earlier than

V3.00

•

The virtual code hardware programming key can only be used with PGM449

firmware ver-

sione 2.0. If you have an old Palm and you wish to use this function you will have to update

the appliance by replacing the microchip and the internal memory.

•

The references to the receiver with display are for products which feature

firmware version

2.0. or greater (the firmware version is shown at startup).

•

To use all of the following functions you must have both the upgraded version of the Palm

as well as the upgraded version of the receiver. Connecting products with different versions

will cause you to loose certain functions.The possible combinations and relative limitations

are as follows:

PGM449_V20 and receiver with an old firmware version

a. PIN code security functions are not available on the receiver.

b. The add transmitter function is available on the receiver but not on the palm. You will

not be able to program transmitters for this function.

c. Uses the PC program from version

V3.00

onwards.

PGM449_V20 and receiver with firmware version V2.0

a. All the functions described in this instruction manual are available.

b. Uses the PC program from version

V3.00

onwards.

PGM449_V12 and receiver with an old firmware version

a. All the functions described in the instruction manual

ZV417.00

are available.

b. Uses the original management program.

PGM449_V12 and receiver with firmware version V2.0

a. PIN code security functions are not available on the receiver.

b. The add transmitter function is not managed by the receiver, you can only carry out the

replacement function.

c. You cannot recover from an eventual error code “

Er3” (this is an irreversible error). In

this case you will have to recreate the code memory

We strongly advise you not to use palm devices with different software versions in the same

installation: if this is inevitable, disable the security functions for the

PGM449

The previous versions use the PIN differently and this can cause the error “

Er3

” if they are

used on installation created with a new palm. To recover operational conditions for the receiver

which gave the “

Er3

” error you will have to use the original palm (or another with the same

firmware version that has the same PIN code number).
