 • Always keep the brake adjusted for maximum performance. Improperly adjusted 

brakes can result in property damage, serious injury, or death. 

5.7.4 Parking Brake

Spring

1.  Lift the vessel and support it with the safety 

prop.

2.  Move the drive clutch lever to the [Stop] 

position.

3.  Inspect that the amount of stretch on the 

brake spring is approximately 5 mm. If it is 
not, adjust.

4.  Undo the safety prop and lower the vessel.

Inspecting

1.  Lift the vessel and support it with the safety 

prop.

2.  Move the drive clutch lever to the [Stop] 

position.

3.  Loosen the lock nut.
4.  Adjust using the adjust nut on the handle 

lever  so  that  the  amount  of  stretch  is 
approximately 5 mm.

5.  Tighten the lock nut.
6.  Undo the safety prop and lower the vessel.
