CARE AND MAINTENANCE
MAINTENANCE
Always ensure that the unit is switched off before cleaning it Clean it using a soft, dry cloth. Do not use
cleaning agents that contain bleach or abrasives.
NOTE! It is important to switch off the power to the indoor unit before cleaning it.
CAUTION
•
A cloth dampened in cold water can be used if the indoor unit is very dirty. Then wipe it with a dry cloth.
•
Do not use a cloth treated with chemicals or a feather duster to clean the unit.
•
Do not use petrol, thinners, polish or the suchlike. This can cause the plastic surface to deform or crack.
•
Do not use water hotter than 40 °C to clean the front panel; this can cause deformation or discolouration.
•
Do not touch the metal parts of the filter when removing it as they could cut you.
•
Do not use water to clean the inside of the unit; this could lead to electric shocks.
•
Check that the unit is shut down and the power switched off before cleaning the unit.
•
Do not wash the air filter in water hotter than 40 °C. Shake the filter and let it dry. Do not expose the filter
to direct sunlight.
FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE
Wipe the unit using a soft, dry cloth. If the unit is very dirty, wipe it with a cloth dampened in warm water.
(max. 40 °C)
CLEAN THE AIR FILTER.
A clogged filter reduces the unit’s air flow and will also affect its heating/cooling capacity. Clean the filter
every other week.
1. Lift the front panel until it clicks.
2. Hold the outer air filter and lift it gently to remove the filter from its holder and then pull it down.
3. Remove the outer air filter from the indoor unit.
*An additional air filter can be used in the outer filter, replace as necessary.
Clean the filter every other week. Vacuum the filter or rinse it in water and allow it to dry.
REMEMBER!
To maintain the performance of the unit we recommend cleaning the indoor unit’s heat exchanger/
lamella package behind the air filters. Do this by spraying cleaning agent onto the heat exchanger. More
information about this can be found at www.canvac.se.
IF THE UNIT WILL NOT BE USED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD
1. Clean the indoor unit and filters.
2. Run the fan for half a day to dry out the inside of the indoor unit.
3. Shut down the unit and switch off the power.
4. Remove the batteries from the remote control.
WHEN THE UNIT IS TO BE USED AGAIN, FOLLOW THE POINTS BELOW:
•
Ensure that there is power to the unit and that all cables are intact.
