If the word you say is not recognized (if it
is not pronounced clearly or the specified
command does not execute), try saying
the word again following the guidelines
below.

Say your command clearly and at a
distance of no more than 5 7/8" (15 cm)
from the microphone. Speak into the
microphone from as short a distance as
possible if there is background noise.

Only certain phrases can be recognized.
For a list of the phrases that can be
recognized, see "List of Recognizable
Phrases," on p. 5-12.

Voice commands cannot be recognized
while the Voice Command List is
displayed. Close the Voice Command List
before saying your command. (See "Using
the Voice Command List," on p. 1-52.)

The voice unit may have difficulty
recognizing your voice commands,
depending on your surroundings.

Even if you say a recognizable word, it
may not be recognized if you say filler
words before or after the command, such
as "um ...," or "please."

Do not break up words into syllables
when saying them.
