Chapter 8

INK TANK CHANGED?

You opened the inner cover.

If you replaced an ink tank, press
[

]. If you did not, press [

p. 7-4

INVALID KEY/SETTING

An invalid key was pressed or
an invalid setting was selected.

Check the key or setting you want
to enter.

LOAD PAPER
(PRESS START KEY)

The multi-purpose tray is
empty.

Load paper in the multi-purpose
tray. Make sure the stack is below
the paper limit mark (

). Then

press [Copy/Start] or [Resume].

Set-Up
Sheet

MACHINE IN USE
CANNOT TURN OFF

You are unable to turn the
machine off with the [ON/OFF]
key because the machine is
performing an operation.

Wait until the machine has
finished, then turn off the machine.

MEMORY FULL

The machine’s memory is full
because you tried to copy too
many pages at once or a very
detailed document.

Divide the document and copy
each part separately.

PUT IN CARTRIDGE

There is no printhead installed
in the machine.

Install the printhead.

WAIT COOLING

During printing, the printhead
may have become too hot.

Allow the machine to cool down.
The machine will resume printing
when it has cooled down.

WASTE INK NEAR FULL

The waste ink tank is nearly
full.

Canon help line.

WRONG CARTRIDGE

The printhead is not installed
correctly.

Try to reinstall the printhead. If the
message remains in the LCD, the
printhead may be defective.
