Shooting - Selecting Particular Effects
Setting the Shutter Speed
When you set the shutter speed in the shutter speed-priority AE mode, the camera
automatically selects an aperture setting to match the brightness. Faster shutter
speeds allow you to catch an instantaneous image of a moving subject while
slower speeds create a flowing effect.
1
Turn the mode dial to
.
• The shutter speed will show in the display
panel. It will also appear in the LCD monitor or
viewfinder if it is on.
2
Press the
or
arrow on the omni
selector to select a speed.
3
Shoot the image.
• The correct exposure has been set if the shutter
speed and aperture settings do not blink in the
display panel.
• If the aperture value is flashing or shown in red, the image is
under- or overexposed (insufficient light). Adjust the shutter
speed using the
or
arrow on the omni selector until the
flashing stops or the aperture value display turns to white.
