Parts and Their Functions
This section provides you with the names and functions of all the parts on the
outside and inside of the printer.
CAUTION
Never block the ventilation slots and louvers on the printer. Blocking these
openings can cause the printer to overheat.
Front View
a a a a Output Tray
Prints are output to this tray with the print side facing
down. (See p. 2-12)
b b b b Upper Cover
This cover is opened when replacing a toner
cartridge or drum cartridge, or when clearing paper
jams. (See p. 5-2, p. 5-15)
c c c c Lamp and Toner Replacement Key
The lamp indicates the printer status, and the key is
used when replacing a toner cartridge. (See p. 1-6)
d d d d Multi-purpose Tray
This tray is to be opened and loaded with paper
when feeding from the multi-purpose tray. (See p.
2-15)
e e e e Paper Guides
Adjust the position of the guides to the width of
paper loaded in the multi-purpose tray. There are
paper limit guides that indicate the maximum
amount of paper that can be loaded. (See p. 2-15)
