There is a paper jam.
An error has occurred and all
one-touch speed dialing,
coded speed dialing, and user
data have been lost.
The document is longer than
29.5 in. (750 mm).
The fax is receiving a
document using Error
Correction Mode (ECM).
The fax is sending a
document using Error
Correction Mode (ECM).
The fax’s memory is full
because it has received too
many documents, or a very
long or detailed document.
The fax’s memory is full
because you either tried to
send too many pages at once,
or you tried to send a very
long or detailed document,
using memory sending.
The one-touch speed dialing
button or coded speed dialing
code you entered has not
been registered.
Clear the paper jam (see p. 8-1)
and reload paper in the multi-
purpose tray. Press [Stop].
Press [Start/Copy], then re-
register the data (see Chapter 2).
Use a copier to make a
reduced copy of the document
and then send the copy.
ECM receptions may take
longer than normal receptions.
Turn off ECM if you need to
receive quickly, or if you know
your local lines are in good
condition (see ECM RX, p. 7-4).
ECM transmissions may take
longer than normal
transmissions. Turn off ECM if
you need to transmit quickly,
or if you know your local lines
are in good condition (see ECM
TX, p. 7-3).
Print any documents stored in
memory (see p. 5-13).
Then start again.
Free up space in the fax’s
memory by printing or
deleting any documents in
memory you no longer need
(see pp. 5-13, 5-14).
If multiple pages are loaded,
separate the pages into smaller
stacks. If not, try sending the
document by direct sending
(see p. 5-2).
Register the one-touch speed
dialing button or coded speed
dialing code (see pp. 2-11,
2-12).
