Rollers other than those described above are cleaned by using the 
Cleaning Mode of the User Mode, using a cleaning sheet.

Opening and Closing the Upper Unit

To clean the inside of the scanner, carefully follow this procedure to 
open and close the upper unit. 

CAUTION

When opening and closing the upper unit, be careful not to get your 
fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Opening the Upper Unit

Press the Open/Close button and carefully raise the upper unit until it 
stops.

Closing the Upper Unit

Carefully lower the upper unit (

). Press down on both sides of the 

upper unit to ensure that it is closed securely.(

Hint

An error message appears on the display panel if the upper unit is 
open (raised).
