Appendix C, Printer Mode Command Summaries and Character
Sets, lists the control codes and ESCape sequences the printer
recognizes in both BJ-10e mode and Epson LQ mode. The
printer recognizes control sequences in ASCII, decimal, and
hexadecimal format.
NOTE: You can enter a command in ASCII format provided the
decimal equivalent of the command is a number greater that 32.
In all other cases, you must enter the decimal format of the
command.
How you enter the control codes and ESCape sequences depends
on your application software. Also, your application software
may require that the codes and sequences be entered in a specific
format, such as decimal rather than hexadecimal. For example,
you can use only decimal format with Multimate Advantage II,
Professional Write, and PFS: First Choice.
NOTE: Application printer drivers may override the printer
control codes embedded in a document. This means the
command will not take effect because of the way the application
handled it.
To determine if an application is overriding your commands,
printer the document using a generic driver and see if the correct
commands are reflected in the printed copy. If they are, the
application printer driver is overriding the commands.
