Step 3: Module Installation
Several options for installation are available for the L357. For applications requiring multiple
modules in the same location, depending on the size and quantity requirements, the UCS 1000,
UCS 1001 or 1002 chassis may be used. The L357 is also hot-swappable module and it can be
inserted any time without interruption of service to other modules in the chassis.

*Note: Due to power requirements, the maximum number of L357s installable in the chassis
may be different if other modules are installed. Consult Canoga Perkins’ Tech Support for
further assistance.
Insert the L357 in an available slot in the 1230 or UCS 1002 making sure that the unit is lined-up
with the card guides. The module should slide into the slot with ease and make contact with the
rear connector without excessive force. Tighten the thumbscrew after insertion. The same steps
apply when installing in the UCS 1020 or 1030. See Figures 2 to 5.
