Connections to Campbell Scientific data loggers are provided in
(p. 10). When
Short Cut
software is used to create the data logger program, wire the sensor to the terminals shown on
the wiring diagram created by

U terminals are automatically configured by the measurement instruction.
The white and gray wires are not used.
7.1.2 2-wire configuration
For this configuration, the TempVue 10 probe requires one single-ended terminal and one
voltage excitation terminal (one excitation terminal can be used for two probes). The 2-wire PRT
measurement is a secondary wiring option, with decreased measurement quality. This setup
reduces the number of terminals needed on the data logger; however, for best measurement
practice use the 4-wire set up.
The calibration supplied by Campbell Scientific is valid only for the 4-wire set up. It is
recommended to obtain a new TempVue 10 calibration offset from a third-party accredited
laboratory to use in the data logger program. Additionally, it is important to use the correct AC
noise rejection or signal integration frequency in the CRBasic program measurement parameter.
