8.2 Pitch, roll, and tilt axis
The SnowVUE 10 reports pitch and roll to ensure that the sensor is mounted to be perpendicular
to the intended target surface. The front of the sensor is the face with the vent on it (opposite the
connector, see
[p. 15]). The etchings are considered to be on the sides of the sensor,
with the product model name on one side and the company logo on the other. Pitch occurs
when the vent tilts forward or backward around the x-axis (
[p. 15]); roll occurs when
the sensor rotates side to side around the axis of the vent and connector (y-axis).
