2 - SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
2.1.2 General precautions
WARNING!
•
Use the tool only while standing on the ground in a safe and stable position.
•
Always use adequate clothing as called for by the job. Wear tight clothing. Do not wear ties, necklaces or belts
which may get caught in moving parts. Use goggles, safety shoes and anti-vibration gloves (picture C).
•
Use a noise-abatement headset.
•
Do not operate, service or repair the equipment if you are under the infl uence of alcohol or drugs which could
impair your alertness or co-ordination.
•
Only well-trained and qualifi ed personnel who have read the Use and Maintenance Manual carefully are allowed to
use the tool.
•
Keep children and animals away from the tool.
•
Do not alter the safety and protective devices.
•
The operator is the only responsible for injuries caused to other people or for damages caused to their belong-
ings.
•
Do not use the tool when you are in unstable position or off balance.
•
It is forbidden to operate the tool while standing on a ladder.
•
Keep the rakes and any other moving part away from your face
•
Before any maintenance operations are carried out, switch the tool off.
•
Before any routine maintenance operation read the Use and Maintenanace Manual carefully. For any other main-
tenance operation which is not described in this manual, please take the tool to a CAMPAGNOLA S.r.l. Authorized
Service Point.
•
The tool shall be used for the purposes described in par. “Product description” only. Other uses could cause
injuries and/or damages.
2.2 Use
•
Wear goggles or a visor, safety shoes and anti-vibration gloves and a noise-abatement headset (picture C).
•
Set the compressor to a pressure of 6÷7 bar (600÷700 kPa) (Olistar Metal Top); 6 bar (600 kPa) (Olistar Tuono).
7 bar (700 kPa) (Olistar Metal Top); 6 bar (600 kPa) (Olistar Tuono) maximum working pressure; higher pressures
may cause premature wear of the tools.
•
The working position must be stable and safe.
•
Always hold the tool with both hands on the handles (25-34) and make sure you are in a stable and safe work position.
•
Use the tool just for the aims indicated in “Product Description”. Any other kind of use may cause injuries.
•
When the tool is connected to the air supply, but it is not being used, make sure the safety catch (23) on the handle (25)
automatically engages itself.
•
If a telescopic extension pole (36) is being used, make sure that the clamp (37) is holding it fi rmly before starting work.
•
Always check that the safety devices are perfectly effi cient.
•
The operator will become very tired using the tool for long periods. For this reason it is recommended that the operators
swap shifts regularly and each person uses the tool each day only for a short time.
