Connect the fiber jumper/adapter to the existing fiber in the cabinet.

Repeat Steps 3a and 3b to install a jumper/adapter on the second fiber link, as 

required (not required when using a bi-directional SFP). 

4.

 

Connect fiber links to the E5-121 as follows: 

 

a.

 

Install one or two SFP transceiver modules into the E5-121 SFP slot(s). To support 

optional link protection, use two SFP modules. 

b.

 

Connect LC fibers to the SFP transceiver modules. To support optional link 

protection, connect fiber links to both SFPs. 

5.

 

Repeat Steps 2–4 above to connect interface cables to additional E5-121 units, as 

required.
