Install the E5-121 chassis ground:
Note:
You can re-use the existing USAM chassis ground cable (from the removed shelf),
or you can install a new ground cable supplied with the E5-121 kit.
a.
Connect the ground cable's 2-hole lug to the E5-121 chassis ground terminal.
b.
Route the ground cable's other end into the protection compartment and connect it
to the cabinet's main ground bar, per PANI guidelines. (Consider the ground cable as
'IGZ equipment.')
4.
Connect power supply leads to the E5-121 unit:
a.
Locate the power supply leads for the first unit, labeled "1." If necessary, dress the
identified cable to the E5-121 mounting location.
b.
Remove the power terminal block from the E5-121 front panel (it pulls straight out).
c.
Connect the power wires to the E5-121 power block:
Connect the black
RTN
wire to the power block's left "
+
" terminal.
Connect the red
-48V
wire to the power block's left "
-
" terminal.
d.
Re-insert the power terminal block into the E5-121 front panel.
e.
Dress and secure the power cables to the rack, as required.
5.
To install additional E5-121 units, repeat the steps above. Install E5-121 units from the
bottom up, above the first unit.
