Once a connection has been established and a GPS fix has been acquired, the Measure button
will appear on the middle left hand side of the screen.
When you are ready to begin measuring simply press the green
Start/Stop button and the
Pasturemeter sled will lower itself into the measuring position. Once the unit is lowered the user
can begin moving. The console will begin recording when the speed is 5km/hr or greater and
automatically pause when the speed is lower than this. When the paddock measurement is
finished, simply press the
Start/Stop button once again to return the unit to the transit position.
If the green
Start/Stop button is not visible and there is no satellite symbol displayed in the
bottom left hand corner of the screen then you must wait while the console acquires a valid GPS
signal. A clear view of the sky is important, move away from trees and buildings.
C-Dax SmartStop
When enabled, C-Dax
SmartStop will automatically raise/lower the Pasturemeter
sled based on whether the unit is inside or outside a paddock. For example, with
smart stop enabled, the user need only press the
Start/Stop button once to begin
the farm ride. As they exit the farm race and enter the first paddock the
Pasturemeter sled will automatically lower into the measuring position and begin
recording data. Likewise, as soon as the unit leaves the paddock and re-enters the
farm race, the unit will automatically pause the recording and rise back up onto its
wheels.
At any time the unit can be forced into the upright position by simply
pressing the Start/Stop button in the bottom right hand corner of the XC3
console.
To enable smart stop press the “Settings” button then tick the check box for
smart stop
C-Dax recommends forcing the unit to the upright position when travelling
down raceways. GPS has the tendency to drift, also some maps are not
sufficiently accurate for this technology to work.
