7. Extract the valve insert with tongs.
8. Check the gasket, nozzle edge and lip seal to
ensure that they are in a perfect functioning
condition, completely exchange the valve insert
if necessary.
9. Assemble in reverse order.
10. Adjust the back pressure.
9.2.2 Clean and maintain the cartridge
insert
To clean the plastic parts, a solvent and/or alcohol-
containing cleaning product should not be used
as these may lead to water damage! No cleaning
products may be released into the environment or
sewage system!
1. Connect the inlet side of the shut-off ball valve to
the AQA therm HFB-1717 BA and the outlet side
to the AQA therm HES.
2. Depressurise the outlet side by opening the
sampling valve (vent valve on the
AQA therm HES).
3. Screw on the cartridge insert cover.
4. Take out the cartridge insert and dirt trap.
5. Remove the dirt trap from the cartridge insert.
6. Clean the dirt trap and the cartridge insert and
replace if necessary. Do not dismantle the
cartridge insert into individual parts!
7. Assemble in reverse order
- Push in the cartridge until it clicks into place
8. Check for proper function.
9.2.3 Backflow inhibitor
1. Connect the inlet side of the shut-off ball valves to
the AQA therm HFB-1717BA and the outlet side
to the mixing device.
2. Depressurise the outlet side by opening the
sampling valve (vent valve on the
AQA therm HES).
3. Replace backflow inhibitor. Backflow inhibitor is
destroyed during the dismantling process.
4. Check for proper function.
9.3 Exchange the AQA therm hardness-
reducing cartridge (HRC) or salt-reducing
cartridge (SRC)
The capacity is dependent on the mixing unit settings
- see table in the installation and operating instruc-
tions for the AQA therm HRC and AQA therm SRC.
If the filling volume of the heating system exceeds
the defined capacity, a new AQA therm hardness-
reducing cartridge (HRC) or salt-reducing cartridge
(SRC) must be connected.
The AQA therm hardness-reducing cartridge (HRC)
or salt-reducing cartridge (SRC) must be exchanged
after one year at most for reasons of technical safety.
10. Disposal
- Casing made from dezincification-resistant
brass.
- Drainage connection, cartridge insert, valve
insert, mechanical components of the mixing
unit and spring cap made from high-quality
plastic.
- NBR fibre-reinforced membrane.
- NBR and EPDM sealing element.
- Setpoint spring made from spring steel.
- Fine screen made from stainless steel.
- Cartridge (HRC, SRC) made from polypropyle-
ne (dispose with residual waste).
