INTENDED USE
This product is designed for carrying up to
two children in a cargo bike. This product
is intended exclusively for installation in
Butchers & Bicycles cargo bikes.
Max. total load: 44 kg
Recommended weight, each child*: 9–22 kg
Recommended child age: 1–6 years
* It is permissible to carry a single child
weighing more than 22 kg, but less than 44 kg
(max. total load)
Ɂ Consult a paediatrician before carrying
children younger than 1 year. The children
must be capable of sitting unaided for at
least as long as the intended cycle journey.
Ɂ Ensure initially and re-check from time to
time that the child's weight and size do not
exceed the maximum capacity of the seat.
DANGER
Use other than described in
this manual can lead to serious injury!

INSTALLATION
Installing the seat in the cargo bike

Ɂ Remove the seat cushion (

) from the
child seat to expose the mounting holes.
Ɂ Place the child seat on top of the raised
flat surface inside the Cargo Box and line
up the mounting holes in the seat with
matching holes in the box.
Ɂ Insert a bolt into each of the 6 holes, each
with a rubber and a metal washer (the
rubber washer should be touching the
child seat shell)

Securing a child in the seat

Ɂ Open the 5 point buckle (

) and the chest
clip(

). Seat your child so that the 5 point
buckle (
8
) is in the centre of the body.
Ɂ Put the shoulder pads (

) on each side of
the child’s neck and bring the two male
ends of the 5 point buckle around the hips.
Ɂ Close the 5 point buckle and the chest clip.
When riding, close the 5 point buckle
on any seatbelt which is not in use to avoid
noise.
Adjusting the seatbelts

To loosen the seatbelt
lift and pull up on the
adjustment buckles (

Slide the chest clip
to the child’s armpit level
or as close as possible (

If necessary, the height of the 5 point buckle
can be adjusted up or down (

Make sure the seatbelt is tight around
the hips and chest. You must tighten the
seatbelt if it is so loose that you can pinch
the straps between your fingers.
Ɂ Reach underneath the cargo bike and
thread a rubber washer, a metal washer
and a locking nut onto each of the 6
mounting bolts (the rubber washer should
be touching the bottom of the box)
Ɂ Tighten each bolt using a 10 mm
wrench (

) and a 4 mm hex key (

).
Recommended tightening torque 5–7 Nm.
Ɂ Re-install seat cushion.
The child seat is backwards compatible
with all Butchers & Bicycles MK1-E and
MK1 cargo bikes. If your bike didn’t come
with the 6 mounting holes, contact an
autorised Butchers & Bicycles dealer for
help with installation.

Only use this child seat
with Butchers & Bicycles MK1-E and MK1
models.
DANGER
Check whether all parts of
the bike function correctly with the seat
mounted.
Removing the seat from the cargo bike
Ɂ Remove the seat cushion.
Ɂ Using a 4 mm hex key and a 10 mm
wrench, undo each of the 6 mounting
bolts.
Ɂ Reach underneath the cargo bike and
remove washers and nuts.
Ɂ Remove bolts from the seat.
Ɂ Re-install the seat cushion and store all
bolts, washers and nuts for future use.
