Note:
If a device that you are trying to select (such as a USB CD drive in the Blade media tray) is
not displayed in the Select Device Type menu, select List all Devices and select the device
from that menu.
4.4 Creating a CE login
If the blade server is running an AIX operating system, you can create a customer engineer
(CE) login to perform operating system commands that are required to service the system
without being logged in as a root user.
The CE login must have a role of Run Diagnostics and be a primary group of System. This
enables the CE login to perform the following tasks:
• Run the diagnostics, including the service aids, certify, and format.
• Run all the operating-system commands that are run by system group users.
•
Configure and unconfigure devices that are not in use.
In addition, this login can have Shutdown Group enabled to allow use of the Update
System Microcode service aid and the shutdown and reboot operations.
The recommended CE login user name is qserv.
