Connecting the bullx blade system to the site LAN
To manage the bullx blade system and bullx B500 compute blades, you must first set up the
remote connection through the Ethernet port on the CMM.
Complete the following steps to connect the Ethernet cable to the CMM.
1.
Connect one end of a Category 5 or higher Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the
CMM.
2.
Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the network.

Note
Check that the Ethernet LED is blinking to ensure that the network connection is working.
Ethernet link LED
When this green LED is lit, there is an active connection through the port to the network.
Ethernet activity LED
When this green LED is blinking, there is activity through the port over the network link.
When this amber is blinking, it indicates a network link.
If the DHCP server is configured, then IP addresses are assigned for the following modules:

Chassis Management Module
•
Ethernet Switch Module

With the Chassis Hardware Console (CHC) IP address log on to the CHC web
interface. If you power On the blades, then each blade gets three IP addresses (BHC
IP, Eth0 IP, and Eth1 IP) from the DHCP server.
