Running with the Feeder Assembly

Setting up a
feeder to
work with
the printer.

To use a feeder with the printer the setup requires two
considerations:
Use the following recommendations to help in setting up the

printer.

Media must go through the center of the Printer

Align center of media here.

To use a feeder with the printer it is best to position the feeder
so the media travels through the center of the printer. This is
very important with small or thin media like post cards or
envelopes. Make certain the media will travel
beneath the sensor or in the path of the sensor
beam.

The media has to travel through the path of the
sensor beam for the record to be printed. This is
very important with small or thin media like post
cards or envelopes. Use the illustration to the right
for an example.
Mount the feeder to the center of the printer. The
media must interrupt the sensor beam for the printer
to know when media is being fed.

The Entry Roller Assemblies must
take hold of the Media.

The Entry Roller Assemblies guide the
media down the Media Path.

Move the feeder close enough for the printer to
have the Entry Roller Assemblies grab the media
and guide it beneath the Print Cartridges.

The media can be sent at a slight incline or straight
into the printer.

Note

: The Entry Roller Assemblies must have

control of the speed and direction of the media
otherwise poor print quality or feed errors may
occur.
