Section 03 ENGINE

Subsection 06 (COOLING SYSTEM)

Remove magneto cover. Refer to

MAGNETO

AND STARTER DRIVE

Remove gasket and dowel pin.

Rotate impeller shaft. Bearing must turn smooth-
ly and freely. No excessive axial or radial play must
be detected during inspection.

Replace bearings if defective or suspicious with
new ones.

Remove bearing circlip.

Push out impeller shaft.

vmr2006-071-018

Remove inner bearing.

Use a claw type hammer puller and pull bearing
out from inner race.

Push out mechanical seal using an appropriate
pusher.

CAUTION: Do not remove seal needlessly. Re-
moval will damage seal.
