DRYER OPERATION AND HANDLING
CAUTION!!! Wash, dry and loosely put the products to be dried on the trays so that there is free flow
of air between the layers. Do not put too many products on the layers.
Put the products starting from the lowest tray.
Position the trays filled with products above the heating element and cover.
Adjust the ventilating holes in the cover depending on a desirable degree of airing.
Switch the dryer on, the appliance works with 125W power.
After drying, switch the dryer off and wait until the products cool down. Then put them into the container where they
will be stored.
Heated air that flows through the trays makes water vapor from products being dried.
Drying time depends on water content in products and their size. We recommend that apples be dried in slices
not thicker than 5 mm.
While drying we recommend exchanging the trays to obtain uniform drying. Drying products with high water content
such as plums, grapes or wet mushrooms requires much more time.
PREPARATION OF PRODUCTS FOR DRYING
Before putting them into the dryer, wash the products and wipe them dry.
CAUTION: Do not put the trays with products above the heating element if there is water on them.
Break up the products into smaller pieces or slices so that they can be loosely put on the trays. Drying time depends
on the thickness of pieces. If the products put on certain layers are less dried, the trays can be exchanged so that
the trays with less dried products are located at the bottom near the heating element. Certain fruit have a natural
protective layer that slows down the drying process. In order to reduce the drying time, it is recommended
to put the products into hot water and boil them for 1 – 2 minutes, then to immerse them in cold water, strain
and thoroughly wipe them dry.
Fruit drying:
1.
Wash and thoroughly wipe the fruit dry.
2.
Remove pits and cut spoiled parts off.
3.
Cut into pieces that can be easily put on the trays.
4.
Sprinkle the fruit with lemon or pineapple juice so that the fruit retain their color after drying.
Vegetable drying:
1.
Wash and wipe the vegetables dry
2.
Remove pits and cut spoiled parts off.
3.
Before drying it is recommended to put the vegetables into hot water, boil for 1 - 5 minutes, then immerse in cold
water, strain and thoroughly wipe them dry
Medicinal plant drying:
1.
It is recommended to dry young leaves.
2.
After drying put the plants into paper bags and store them in a dry and dark place
Storing dried food:
1.
Containers for storing dried food should be clean and dry.
2.
It is recommended to keep dried food in glass containers with a metal lid in a dark and dry place at a temperature
between 5°C do 20°C.
3.
After the first week of storing, check whether any moisture has gathered in the container. If yes, it means that
the products had not been sufficiently dried and the drying process should be repeated
CAUTION: Do not put hot products from the dryer into the containers where they will be stored.

The trays must be washed in lukewarm water with added detergent. The base of the dryer must be wiped with moistened
