2. Site Preparation
2.1. Overview
This section describes the required actions that must be performed, before
installing in a rack, as follows:
•
mechanical requirements
•
cable requirements
2.2. Mechanical Requirements
2.2.1. Rack Preparation
2.2.1.1. Rack Preparation for 19in 44U Racks supplied with the CAGE40-M
The rack is prepared and installed according to the 19in 44U Rack Installation
Instructions supplied with the Service Manual.
2.2.1.2. Rack Preparation for other Racks
When a CAG40D-MIN is to be installed on other racks, the rack should take into
account the following CAG40D-MIN dimensions:
•
Width 482 mm/19 inches
•
Height 6U (246 mm/9.7 inches)
•
Depth 302 mm/11.9 inches total (280 mm/11 inches from rack front)
•
Weight Approx. 10 kg/22 lb (for typical CAG40D-MIN including cards)
In addition, a fan unit is installed below each CAG40D-MIN. Ensure that space is
set aside for each fan unit. The fan unit’s dimensions are:
•
Width 482 mm/19 inches
•
Height 1U (41 mm/1.6 inches)
•
Depth 247 mm/9.8 inches
Note: It is recommended to leave enough space behind the rack to allow
easy access for maintenance personnel.
