Swing-Away Foot rests:
The Ypush features
swing-away footrests. In normal use these provide
support for the occupant’s feet.

Swing-Away function:
The occupant will be able
to more easily transfer to and from the Ypush
with one or both of the foot rests swung away.

To do this grip the footrest and raise it up so
that it is no longer located on the front of the
wheelchair.

Now swing the footrest away to clear a path
for the occupant to alight easily.

When the occupant is sitting comfortably,
put the footrests back to their installed
position by raising them and swinging them back
in. Lower the footrests they locate properly on
the frame. Test that you have done this correct-
ly by trying to swing them back out. If they do
move then repeat this procedure. Failure to lock
the rests in properly could result in injury to the
occupant and or attendant.

Now assist the occupant as necessary to
place their feet on the footrests.
Seat Belt:
The Ypush is fitted with a seat-belt for
the occupant. This must be adjusted correctly and
worn on every trip.
The belt can be adjusted at each side to achieve
the correct fit. Make sure that the occupant is
sitting fully back in the seat and then clip the
two halves of the belt together. Adjust length as
necessary.

Warning!
Adjust and fit the seat belt
whenever the occupant is seated. Never
allow the seat belt to hang free as the risk of
entanglement could cause injury.
