Battery Pack Safety
Battery Pack Safety Messages
Risk of Fire and Electric Shock – No User Serviceable Parts.
To prevent serious injury or death:
•
ONLY charge original Trace approved lithium-ion battery packs. The battery pack voltage
must match the battery charger voltage. DO NOT use the battery pack or charger for any
use other than its intended purpose.
•
ONLY use the battery charger provided with the Trace or a BrightDrop approved
replacement.
•
For any service regarding the battery, ensure the system power is turned OFF before
service begins.
•
DO NOT expose to rain or allow any liquids on or inside the battery pack and charger. The
risk of electric shock and the potential for fire are increased should the charger or battery
pack be exposed to water or submerged in liquid of any kind.
•
DO NOT charge the Trace outdoors or in wet environments.
•
DO NOT remove or service the Trace battery pack without ensuring the system power is
turned OFF.
•
DO NOT charge the Trace when ambient temperatures are below 32
o
F (0
o
C) or higher
than 100
o
F (38
o
C). Do not charge in direct sunlight.
•
ALWAYS inspect the battery charger and cords prior to each use. If dropped or damaged,
DO NOT use and discard immediately.
•
If the battery pack is dropped, crushed and or dented, DO NOT use and contact
BrightDrop to order a replacement battery pack.
•
The battery pack may emit smoke or gases if it becomes damaged or is used incorrectly.
Ensure the Trace is in a well-ventilated area. Respiratory tract irritation may occur and
users should seek medical attention if they experience any adverse effects. Do not allow
any others to approach the Trace. For assistance, please contact BrightDrop Customer
Support.
• Battery leakage may occur under extreme usage or temperature conditions. Avoid
contact with skin and eyes. Battery liquid is caustic and could cause chemical burns. If
battery liquid comes in contact with skin, wash quickly with soap and water. If the liquid
