•8.2.3 PTP PORT STATUS PAGE
•The upper section of the PTP Port Status page includes:
-
the mode of the port
-
the PTP State
-
the domain number,
-
the delay mechanism,
-
the PTP version and
-
the PTP profile selected for the port.
•Below that, Message counters display the number of messages received and
transmitted by the port including:
-
Announce,
-
Sync,
-
Delay Request,
-
Delay Response,
-
Peer Delay Request,
-
Peer Delay Response.
Those are running counters and can be cleared by pressing the ENTER key.
Monitoring the messages exchanged is useful when troubleshooting. Announce and Sync messages for example are sent by
Master devices. Delay request & delay response will show PTP activity between Master and slaves and, based on the chosen
Delay Mechanism, the messages will be Delay or Pdelay type.
•Mean Path Delay is the mean travel time of PTP packets between master and slave. The Mean Path Delay is displayed in
µsec.
