1. Remove the tank lid.

2. Remove the screw cap

from the filter housing.

3. Carefully turn and pull the

filter from the filter housing.

4. Rinse the filter for three minutes under

water or soak for three minutes in vinegar.

5. Apply a thin layer of petro-

leum jelly around the bottom of

the filter and carefully reinstall

the filter in the filter housing.

6. Replace the screw cap on

the filter housing.

7. Replace the tank lid.

Figure 6. Filter Cleaning

Disconnect the pump AC power cord from the mains supply.

Remove the system lid. Locate the connection of the suc-

tion pipe unit on the side of the pump identified by the steel

flange with two bolts and grey elbow.

Using a 12mm wrench, loosen and remove the two bolts

connecting the steel flange to the pump. Gently manoeuvre

the suction pipe unit to allow access to the black rubber gas-

ket containing the strainer screen.

Inspect the strainer screen for material build up. If the

strainer screen is clean, no further action is necessary and

the flange can be replaced onto the pump and the two bolts

inserted and tightened.

Remove the gasket from the flange and take out the strainer

screen. The strainer screen can be cleaned or replaced and

inserted back into the gasket. Replace the gasket and flange

of the suction pipe unit onto the pump and insert and tight-

ened the two bolts. Replace the system lid. Reconnect the

pump AC power cord to the mains supply.

Pump Screen.

As we are unable to determine the exact grey water inflow volumes for each application, we recom-

mend that you inspect and clean the pump strainer screen every three months. If you realize that

the build up of material on the strainer screen does not warrant cleaning every three months, we

recommend that you decrease the frequency of inspecting and cleaning of the strainer screen by

one month at a time, until you determine the proper time interval for your particular situation.

NOTE: Do not  operate the RGW system without the strainer screen as pump damage could occur.
