| Safety instructions
Bosch Rexroth AG, RE 95289-01-B/2021-10-12
which could result in personal injury or property damage. For this reason,
only use the product in safety-relevant applications if this use is expressly
indicated and approved in the product documentation, e.g. in safety-related parts
of a control system (functional safety).
• Only commission the product if it has been determined that the end product
(e.g. machinery/system) in which the Rexroth products are installed complies with
the country-specific provisions, safety regulations and standards for the application.
• Use tools appropriate for the work being performed and wear appropriate
protective clothing to prevent punctures and cuts (e.g. when removing protective
covers, disassembly).
• The display contains electronic components and may thus be damaged
by electrostatic discharge. Comply with the handling regulations
for electronically sensitive components, see respective data sheet
(Table 1 "Required and supplementary documentation" on page 5).
• The proposed circuits do not imply any technical liability for the system on the part
of Bosch Rexroth.
• Working on the PC with BODAS DCT (for DI3) and the CODESYS development
environment (for DI4) in combination with a control unit or display in a machine or
vehicle is only permissible during commissioning of the machine or during service
operations. Appropriate safety measures must be provided against hazards caused
by unexpected operating conditions.
• Changing parameters or loading (flash-programming) software onto the
BODAS display may only be performed by trained and experienced specialists who
are suitably familiarized with both the components used and the complete system.
• When performing flashing, the user is responsible for ensuring that the software
to be flashed is compatible with the BODAS display hardware and the vehicle
configuration.
• Any unexpected reset of the display DI4 can be caused by a watchdog fault.
This safety mechanism can be triggered by overloading, a device malfunction
or power supply loss. The cause must be determined and corrected before the
device/system is used again.
• A consistently high load on the bus is to be avoided. Validation of the occurring
bus load must be performed by the OEM for the complete system.
• Faulty programming of the BODAS display may lead to potential hazards in
the running operation of the machine. It is the responsibility of the machine
manufacturer to identify hazards of this type in a hazard analysis and to bring them
to the attention of the end user. Bosch Rexroth shall assume no liability for dangers
of this kind.
• The display firmware and/or the board support package must be installed and
removed by Bosch Rexroth or by the authorized partner concerned in order to
uphold the warranty.
• On delivery, any plug-in connections that are not used are sealed with protective
caps. If mating connectors are not installed on the customer side, the provided
protective caps must be used. (tighten by hand, make sure that O-ring is in place)
(for DI4 only).
• Opening the BODAS display or modifying or repairing the display is prohibited.
Modification or repairs to the wiring could result in dangerous malfunctions.
Repair work on the BODAS display may only be carried out by Bosch Rexroth
or by suitable contracting partners.
• Make sure that the BODAS display configuration does not lead to safety-critical
malfunctions of the complete system in the event of failure or malfunction.
