Mode Selector Dial
The selector dial allows the tool to be
set for various drilling/hammer drilling
applications. Depress release button
a n d t u r n s e l e c t o r d i a l r i g h t o r l e f t
depending on the below applications.
(Fig. 11).

selection dial until
the tool comes to a complete stop.
Shifting during rotation of the chuck can

When using demolition or chipping bits
such as bull points, chisels, spades,
gouges, etc. the “Hammer Only” mode
must be selected.
“Vario-Lock”
Choose a position which is best suited
f o r y o u r o p e r a t i o n . T h e V a r i o - L o c k
p o s i t i o n i s i n t e n d e d f o r u s e w i t h
c h i p p i n g b i t s s u c h a s b u l l p o i n t s ,
spades, gouges, etc. Depress release
button and turn the selector dial, to the
“vario-lock” setting. Next, rotate the
locking sleeve, along with the accessory,
to the desired position. Then turn the
s e l e c t o r d i a l t o t h e “ h a m m e r o n l y ”
setting and slightly turn the locking
sleeve to have it automatically lock into
a definite position (Fig. 12).
Slip Clutch
T h e t o o l h a s a i n t e r n a l p r e - s e t s l i p
clutch. The output spindle will stop
r o t a t i n g i f t h e a c c e s s o r y b i n d s a n d
overloads the tool.
DRILLING MASONRY
U s e c a r b i d e - t i p p e d m a s o n r y b i t f o r
cinder block, mortar, common brick,
soft stone and other materials. The
a m o u n t o f p r e s s u r e t o b e u s e d i s
dependent upon the type of material
being drilled. Soft materials require less
pressure while the hard materials need
more pressure to prevent the drill bit
from spinning.
DRILLING WOOD OR PLASTIC
Drilling wood or plastic requires the
use of 3-jaw chuck (sold separately).
If backing block is not used, ease up on
the pressure just before the bit breaks
through the wood to avoid splintering.
Complete the hole from the opposite
side immediately after the point breaks
through. If bit binds, reverse the drilling
operation to help remove the bit from
the work.
