5.5 PowerStart®
The PowerStart® feature heats up the cooking zone using
the highest power level and then switches down to the se-
lected ongoing cooking setting.
How long the PowerStart® feature is active depends on
the power level selected for ongoing cooking.
The PowerStart® feature is available on all cooking zones.
Setting PowerStart®
Requirement:
PowerStart® can only be activated in the
first 30 seconds after turning on the cooking zone.

Select the required ongoing cooking setting for the
cooking zone.

Recommended settings for cooking with the PowerStart® feature
The values stated here are guidelines. The smaller quanti-
ties are for the smaller cooking zones, the larger ones for
the larger cooking zones.
Cooking tips
¡
PowerStart® is designed to conserve the food’s nutri-
tional value by cooking with little water. This function is
not suitable for food cooked in a lot of water, e.g pasta.

Cover the cookware with a lid.
¡
Stir thick liquids occasionally.
¡
Add only about 2 cups of water to the food for the large
cooking zones and about 3/4 - 1 cup of water for the
small cooking zones.
