Changing the Chuck
Do not carry the tool

may unexpectedly fall if the chuck is not
fully engaged.
T h i s t o o l c o m e s w i t h a r e p l a c e a b l e
c h u c k . T h i s a l l o w s f o r f a s t , e a s y
replacement of the SDS-plus chuck. It
also allows the use of a 3-jaw chuck
(sold separately), which converts the
tool for use with a variety of straight
shank bits for drilling and driving.

loose and cause damage or injury.
Grasp the 3-jaw chuck

firmly with
your hand and push it onto the tool with
a twisting motion until you hear it lock
into place (Fig. 7).
Pull outward on the chuck to be certain
it is locked into the tool.

For small bits, open jaws enough to
insert the bit up to the flutes. For large
bits, insert the bit as far as it will go.
