Selecting Vehicle

 

WARNING: Before performing any 

diagnostic functions, refer to the Safety 

Precautions and the warnings provided 

by the vehicle manufacturer . In addition, 

follow any warnings and instructions 

provided on the EMMIT .

There are two methods for selecting a vehicle AutoID or 

Manual. Auto ID uses the vehicle’s Mode 9 VIN informati-

on, when available. Auto ID is supported for 2013 

through 2016 model year vehicles.
If the VIN cannot be captured, an error screen will ap-

pear. The vehicle VIN will need to be entered manually.

Auto ID

Auto ID Operation:

1.  Select AutoID to obtain VIN and perform guided Multi 

Media diagnostic test process.

2.  Connect ODB II cable to vehicle.

3.  Verify vehicle is correct.  If yes, hit Next.

4.  Select radio type.

5.  Select a test and follow on screen prompts.
