16.1 Vehicle database

The vehicle database can be updated annually using
a PS2 stick. Further information can be obtained
from customer service.

Do not switch off ACS 652 during update process.
!
Follow the additional ACS 652 menu prompting.
1. Call up the start screen.
2. Press < 3 > and < Flush > simultaneously and release.

The message

16.2 Data backup
i
This function enables you to save ACS 652 configura-
tion data before a software update. A data backup
avoids the need to recalibrate the ACS 652 after a
software update.
!
Do not turn off the ACS 652 while saving.
!
Follow the additional ACS 652 menu prompting.
1. Call up the start screen.
2. Press < 3 > and < Flush > simultaneously and release.
 The message

is displayed.

" BACKUP " with

INSERT THE KEY

5. Remove plastic cover (input PS2 stick) between

Do not use the PS2 stick with the new software ver-
sion, as the stick is cleared before the data backup.
6. Insert PS2 stick.
7. Confirm that any data on the stick will be deleted.
8. After the backup, remove the stick.

16.3 Software update

The software is updated using a PS2 stick. Before
updating, perform a data backup (see section 16.2)
so that the calibration data and settings for the
ACS 652 will not be lost.
1. Turn off the ACS 652.
2.
Insert the "System Software" PS2 stick.
3. Press and hold the < MENU > key.
4. Turn on the ACS 652 and release the < MENU > key.
5. The ACS 652 turns itself off after programming.
6. Remove the PS2 stick.
7.
Turn on the ACS 652.
16.4 Loading a data backup

The calibration data previously saved (section 16.2)
can be reinstalled after the software update.
1. Turn off the ACS 652.
2. Insert the "Data Backup" PS2 stick.
3. Press and hold the < MENU > key.
4.
Turn on the ACS 652 and release the < MENU > key.
5. After recovery of the data, remove the PS2 stick and
attach the plastic cover.
6. Check the calibration data.
