EFM-100 Data Format

The EFM-100 Electric Field Mill transmits data sentences down the fiber optic cable at the rate of

ten readings per second. The EFA-10 converts the optical signal to standard RS232 at 9600 baud, 8
data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.

Electric Field Sentence

<f> - fault 0: Normal, 1: Rotor Fault

<cs> - checksum in hex 00 to FF

Example:

Represents 0.33kV/m with no faults.

Checksum can be ignored for most applications.
