05 Initial start-up and handling
5.1 Starting up the machine
Plug the machine into a power supply and switch the green "Reset" button at
the PRCD safety switch on.
Connect to a water supply (1/2"). Never allow the machine to run dry.
(Gaskets can be damaged)
With notches on the inside of the metal ring, the glass sheet can be
positioned correctly.
Secure the machine with the suction feet (picture B, 2), making sure that the
suction pads and the glass are clean.
For optimal attachment of the suction feet, slightly loosen each clamping
screw (picture B, 6) at the swivelling plate. Press the suction foot down on
the glass when tilting the lever (picture B, 7), then tighten the clamping
screw again.
Set the desired speed (picture B, 1). The speed control is infinitely
adjustable. There are six markings which correspond to the following
speeds:
Setting Speed
rpm
1 500
2 585
3 700
4 880
5 1200
6 1700
Turn on the water supply
Switch the machine on (picture B, 3).
With the depth stopper (picture B, 4), a maximum drilling depth can be set.
(Distance between graduations = 2 mm)
When drilling, the machine should additionally be held down with the front
handle.
5.2 Laser
Using the laser
Optionally, a laser can be used for positioning.
First, mark the drill position with the white marking pen (picture C, Art.No.
BO 5007909).
Align the machine so that the laser point is directly in the middle of the
marked position.
Please note: to drill the glass from both sides (turning over the pane), both
sides must be marked.
Installation
Place the centering sheet (enclosure 1) under the machine and align it at one
of the drills (diameter: 60, 50, 40 or 30 mm) screwed in the spindle (picture F).
Remove the cover of the laser unit. Turn the studs (picture E, 8) so that they
can be set into the rail on the back side of the machine. Then turn the studs
crossways and slightly tighten them.
Switch the laser on.
Carefully slide the laser unit in the rail. When the laser point appoximately in
the middle of the centering sheet, tighten the screws in the studs firmly.
Finally, do the fine adjusting.
Fine adjustment
The vertical (picture H, 9) and horizontal (picture H, 10) fine adjustment of
the laser can be done via the socket screws.
Put the laser cover back on.
The centering aid (picture F) can also be used for later readjustments of the
laser.
Maintenance
To change the laser batteries
(picture D and G, type LR03/AAA),
only the laser cover has to be
removed.
