Wipe off excess lubricant.

Checking chain sag

Make sure the ground is level

and firm and place the motor-

cycle on its stand.

Turn the rear wheel until it

reaches the position of least

chain sag.

Use a screwdriver to push

the chain up at a point mid-

way between the pinion and

sprocket and measure differ-

ence

For race-track sessions,

BMW Motorrad recom-

mends adjusting chain sag to a

value close to the stated max-

imum and checking at shorter

intervals.
