General notes
BMW Motorrad recommends the
use of parts and accessories for
your vehicle that are approved by
BMW for this purpose.
Your authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer is the right place to go
for genuine BMW parts and ac-
cessories,other BMW approved
products, and expert advice on
their installation and use.
These parts and products have
been tested by BMW for safety,
function and suitability. BMW
accepts product liability for these
products.
Conversely, BMW is unable to
accept any liability whatsoever
for parts and accessories which it
has not approved.

Use of products from other
manufacturers
Safety risk
BMW Motorrad cannot exam-
ine or test each product of out-
side origin to ensure that it can
be used on or in connection
with BMW motorcycles without
constituting a safety hazard.
Nor is this guarantee provided
when the official approval of
a specific country has been
granted. Tests conducted by
these instances cannot make
provision for all operating con-
ditions experienced by BMW
motorcycles and, consequently,
they are not sufficient in some
circumstances.
Use only parts and accessories
approved by BMW for your
motorcycle.
Whenever you are planning mod-
ifications, comply with all the le-
gal requirements. The motorcy-
cle must not violate the regula-
tions governing motorcycle ap-
proval for highway use applicable
in your own country.
Onboard power outlets
Information on using 12V sock-
ets:
Operating electrical acces-
sories
The battery capacity is not mon-
itored when 12V sockets are in
use. If accessory devices are op-
erated for an extended period
of time without activation of the
high-voltage battery, the battery
may be fully discharged. As a re-
sult, the E-Scooter may not be
able to start.
Cable routing
Observe the following when rout-
ing cable from 12V sockets to
additional devices:
Cables must not hinder the
rider's movement.
Cables must not restrict the
steering angle and driving char-
acteristics.
