IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
RETAIN THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL
WARNING: To avoid any risk of fire, burns, electric shock or other physical injury:
When you use an electric appliance, some basic precautions must be observed, especially those listed
below:
1. Never use this oven for any purpose other than to
prepare food, especially drying clothes, paper or
any other non-food product, or for sterilizing.
2. Never run the oven empty for this could damage it.
3. Never use the oven cavity for storing anything
whatsoever, like paper, cookbooks, containers, etc.
4. Never run the oven without the glass tray in place.
Always ensure that it is correctly positioned on its
rotating base.
5. Never forget to remove covers or caps before
cooking or heating food in bottles or jars.
6. Never place any foreign object between the oven
surface and the oven door as this could cause
excessive microwave energy leakage.
7. Never use recycled paper products for cooking as
recycled paper products may contain impurities that
may cause sparks and/or a fire during cooking.
8. Never prepare popcorn in the oven, except when
using a special microwave oven container or if the
corn is specially packaged and recommended for
preparation in a microwave oven. Using a
microwave oven to cook popcorn yields less than
conventional methods, i.e. the number of unpopped
kernels will be greater. Never use oil except when
advised to do so by the food maker.
9. Never cook food surrounded by a membrane, such
as egg yolks, potatoes, chicken liver, etc. without
first piercing this membrane a number of times with
a fork.
10. Never leave popcorn in the oven for longer than
recommended by the maker (generally less than
three minutes). Longer cooking times will not
produce more popcorn, but could cause browning
and start a fire. Furthermore, the cooking dish could
become too hot or break.
11. If you observe smoke, switch off or unplug the
microwave oven and keep the door closed so as to
smother out any flames.
12. When heating food contained in plastic or paper,
keep an eye on the oven due to the risk of it
catching fire.
13. The contents of baby bottles and other baby food
jars must be stirred or shaken and the temperature
checked before serving to avoid any risk of burns.
14. Always test the temperature of food or drink heated
in the microwave oven before serving it, especially
when serving it to children or the elderly. This is
important as anything heated in a microwave oven
continues to heat up for a moment longer, even
after removal from the microwave oven.
15. Fresh eggs in their shells and hard boiled eggs still
in their shells must not be heated in the microwave
oven for they may explode, even after turning off the
microwave oven.
16. Always keep the waveguide cover clean. Wipe the
inside of the oven using a soft, damp cloth after use.
If you leave grease or fat anywhere in the cavity, it
may overheat and release smoke or even catch fire
the next time the oven is used.
17. Never heat oil or fat for frying food as you cannot
control its temperature and this could lead to
overheating and fire.
18. Heating drinks in the microwave oven may cause a
sudden and delayed outburst of boiling liquid so
always take special care when handling the
container.
19. a) Be sure to avoid touching anything other than the
control panel during or immediately after cooking
with the grill or in combined mode (The oven
door, window and tray may also become very
hot).
b) Always use hot pads or cooking gloves when
placing food and/or accessories in the oven or
when removing them.
