Preservation of membrane modules in very cold areas
When the temperature may fall below 5 degrees Centigrade, it is necessary to add 20% of
glycerine to the biocide solution.
In any case the membranes should not freeze.

Glyzerin zuzusetzen.
In jedem Fall dürfen die Membranen nicht einfrieren.

MEMBRANE REMOVAL
Before you begin the process of opening up pressure vessels for membrane replacement
make sure that the watermaker is depressurized and proceed as follows:

Screw off the bolts at both ends. Remove the plates. Thereafter, pull the end caps out of the
pressure pipe with a slight pull at the stainless steel-fittings of the pressure hoses and slightly
sidewise movements.
The membrane has to be shoved out of the pressure pipe in flow direction, because the O-
ring of the membrane prevents lateral movements against the flow direction.
According to this, during assembly, the membrane has to be shoved in the pipe in flow direc-
tion. Before installation, all O-rings have to be lubricated lightly with vaseline (vaselint found in
pharmacy is ok). When mounted, necessarily watch the O-rings to avoid a damage. Reinstall
the membrane as previously described in the membranes assembly section of this manual.
