Glossary

AF – Alternative frequency

The range of FM stations is limi-
ted. For this reason, FM pro-
grammes are distributed to dif-
ferent frequencies. The AF RDS
service sends these frequencies
to the tuner. If the reception de-
teriorates because the vehicle
leaves the reception area of a fre-
quency, the tuner can automati-
cally change to the best receiva-
ble frequency.

DEQmaxEx – Digital paramet-
ric equalizer with variable ﬁ lter
quality

This function allows for a maxi-
mum of exact frequency optimisa-
tion, so that the sound spectrum
can be adjusted to the vehicle or
your individual taste.

Quality factor Q

It determines the ﬁ lter quality of
the equalizer, i.e. the edge steep-
ness and ﬁ lter bandwidth, de-
pendent upon the characteristic
frequency.

ID3 tags

ID3 tags contain additional infor-
mation for MP3 ﬁ les (e.g. artist,
title, album, genre, year).

Mass storage device

Format for storage media that can
permanently store large amounts
of data, such as USB removable
storage devices (USB stick or
USB hard disk).

MMC/SD card (Multimedia Card/
Secure Digital Card)

MMC/SD cards are memory card
formats that can be inserted in
card slot

PTY – Program Type

The device searches only for sta-
tions with preselectable pro-
gramme content (e.g. news, rock,
pop, sports, etc.).
The device automatically switches
through emergency and disaster
announcements (PTY 31).
