8.2.4 Menu ”VPN client”
The settings here are necessary if you want to use a VPN
connection. Currently, this is only suitable for systems that
provides the needed certificates automatically.
Activate
the VPN by marking the checkbox. Enter the IP
address of the
server
in the respective field. It enables the
VPN connection. If the network supports it, the name of
the server can be entered instead.
The “
Certificate download
“ button builds a connection
to the server, so that the necessary certificates for VPN
access can be transferred.
Finally,
user
and
password
for the VPN access must be
defined.
The settings are confirmed by pressing the “
Send
“ button. After a successfull connection the IP address of the VPN is
displayed at the menus “
RCL Home
“ and “
Status
“. Otherwise, the IP address 0.0.0.0 is displayed.
8.2.5 Menu ”Serielle”
Here you configure the serial interface for a desired use.
Currently, three lines of the RS 232 are used:
RX
,
TX
and
GND
.
Select the individual parameters of the interface (baud
rate, parity, data bits and stop bits). When entering
the baud rate a free entry is possible, the input value is
rounded to the next lower value that is supported.
The following
baud rates
are supported:
• 921,600 • 576,000 • 500,000 • 460,800 • 230,400 •
115,200 • 57,600 • 38,400 • 19,200 • 9,600 • 4,800 •
2,400 • 1,800 • 1,200 • 600 • 300

Then choose for the
RS 232 tunnel
, if you want to run the module in a server mode or in a client mode. If the client
mode has been selected, enter as the
Server-IP
the IP address of the remote station.
Example
: The remote access or maintenance of a module / headend is only accessible via RS 232.
In this case, a RS 232 tunnel is built from the PC via two LANIOS-RCL to the module / headend. The two
LANIOS-RCL are connected via wireless network and thus ensures an access from the PC to the module /
headend.
Blankom
recommends to set up the LANIOS-RCL on the PC as a client and the other one as a server.
Alternatively, the RS 232 tunnels can be realized with one LANIOS-RCL. This requires a virtual serial port on
the PC, which then connects the LANIOS-RCL via TCP. The implementation is supported by a software of
the company Fabula Tech (
www.fabulatech.com
).
Apply the following settings:
mode
: client,
TCP port
: 5002,
serial mode
: raw
The LANIOS-RCL on the module / headend must be set up as a server.
