handle (7) onto the front of the tool as shown.

Rotate the side handle into the desired position ensuring

that the notches (7b) engage with the sprocket (7a).

Insert the depth guage (8) into the mounting hole (8a).

Set the drilling depth as described below.

Note:

the side handle can be positioned, depending on

personal preference.

Fitting a drill bit

(fig. B)

This tool is fitted with a quick release chuck to allow for an

easy exchange of bits.

Warning!

Make certain the tool is locked to prevent switch

actuation before installing or removing accessories.

u

Lock the tool by setting the forward/reverse slider (3) to

the centre position.

u

Insert the bit shaft (9) into the chuck (6) (Fig. C).

Note!

To remove the bit/socket, pull and hold the chuck collar

(6) away from the front of the tool (Fig. C).

Fitting the keyed chuck (fig. C)

u

Fit the shank of the supplied chuck (10) into the tool

holder as described above.

Warning!

Never use keyed chucks in the hammer drilling

mode.

Fitting accessories in the keyed chuck (fig. D)

u

Open the chuck by turning the sleeve.

u

Insert the bit shaft (12) into the chuck.

u

Insert the chuck key (11) into each hole in the side of the

chuck and turn until tight.

Use

Warning!

Let the tool work at its own pace. Do not overload.

Warning!

Before drilling into walls, floors or ceilings, check for

the location of wiring and pipes.

Selecting the drilling mode (fig. E)

To select a drilling mode, push button 5a and rotate the

selector to the required setting.

For Impact drilling in masonry and concrete, set the

drilling  mode selector (5) to the

qr

 position.

For drilling in steel, wood and plastics set the

drilling

mode selector (5) to the

r

 position.

For chiselling mode set the drilling mode selector (5) to

the

q

position.

Selecting the direction of rotation (fig. F)

For drilling and for tightening screws, use forward

(clockwise) rotation. For loosening screws or removing a

jammed drill bit, use reverse (counter clockwise) rotation.

To select forward rotation, push the forward/reverse

switch (3) to the left position.

To select reverse rotation, push the forward/reverse

  button to the right.

Warning!

Never change the direction of rotation while the

motor is running.

Setting the drilling depth (fig. A)

Slacken the side handle (7) by turning the grip

counterclockwise.

Set the depth guage (8) to the desired position. The

maximum drilling depth is equal to the distance between

the tip of the drill bit and the front end of the depth guage.

Tighten the side handle by turning the grip clockwise.

Switching on and off

To switch the tool on, press the variable speed

switch (1). The tool speed depends on how far you

press the switch. Set the variable speed control knob (4)

to the required speed range.

As a general rule, use low speeds for large diameter drill

bits and high speeds for smaller diameter drill bits.

For continuous operation, press the lock-on button (2)

and release the variable speed switch. The lock on button

is available only at full speed in forward mode.

In the reverse mode, the lock on button is not available.
