To initialize an IP address, enter the MAC address of the switch’s LAN interface
(this can be found on a label on the switch’s back panel) and the desired IP
address and subnet mask. See Figure 5-2. (Make sure you enter an IP address and
subnet mask that are compatible with your network; contact your network
administrator if you need assistance. If you want to access the switch from a
separate network segment, you will also need to enter the IP address for your
default gateway.) Click on the
Configure button.
