IPsec

IPsec: An alternative to TunnelVision

As an alternative to TunnelVision, Nitix can create an IPsec tunnel to a remote server. Tun-
nelVision’s more advanced features, such as automatic hostname and route sharing, are not
provided by IPsec. We generally recommend using TunnelVision, however, for strict stan-
dards compliance, or for connecting to a server that isn’t another Black Box® IT Pro™,
IPsec may be your only option.

Known Configurations

Nitix’s IPsec functionality is still under development (in particular to extend its usability with
other products); however, it has been proven to be compatible with select products using spe-
cific configurations.
