Charging Procedure
1. Plug the charger into an appropriate
outlet before inserting the battery pack.
2. Insert the battery pack into the charger
as shown in
Figure A
. The charger is
equipped with an amber LED that will
blink according to the state of charge of
the battery pack.
3. The completion of charge is indicated by
the LED turning green (approximately
12-16 hours for a completely discharged
battery pack). The pack is fully charged
and may be used at this time or left on
the charger.
Charger Diagnostics
This charger is designed to detect certain problems that can arise
with the battery packs or the charger. Problems are indicated by the
amber LED flashing in different patterns.
BAD BATTERY PACK
The charger can detect a weak or damaged battery. The amber LED
will
blink rapidly
. The battery will no longer charge and should be
returned to a service center or a collection site for recycling.
HOT/ COLD BATTERY PACK
The charger will detect if the battery pack is too hot or too cold. The
amber LED will flash with
one fast blink followed by a long blink.
When the battery pack has cooled, charging will begin.
