IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, in order to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock, and/or injury, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
■
Do not touch hot surfaces or hot water. Use handles or knobs. Care
must be taken as burns can occur from touching spilled hot liquids.
■
To protect against fire, electric shock or injury, do not place cord, plug,
or base in water or other liquid.
■
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove bottom cover
from base. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repair should be
done by authorized service personnel only.
■
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or
near children.
■
Kettle must be operated on a flat surface away from the edge of
counter to prevent accidental tipping.
■
To protect against electric shock, ALWAYS unplug from outlet when
not in use, and before cleaning. To prevent burns, allow to cool
before cleaning.
■
Do not operate dry. Do not use for other than heating water. Other
foods or liquids will contaminate the interior and void the warranty.
■
To disconnect, remove plug from outlet. Do not yank on cord as it may
damage cord and eventually cause electric shock.
■
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. If the
product requires attention within the warranty period, call the toll-free
number listed on the cover of this manual for information on
examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
■
To avoid an electrical overload, do not operate another high-wattage
appliance on the same circuit.
■
The use of an accessory attachment not approved by the manufacturer
may result in fire, electric shock or injury.
■
Do not use outdoors.
■
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch
hot surfaces.
■
Do not fill the kettle while it is seated on the power Base. Be sure to
unplug it before it boils dry. Never operate the kettle dry.
